Charleston, SC. This investment will bring viable livable wages and full time employment to the community by providing access to critically needed jobs and providing benefits to the environment. Further, the jobs provide opportunities for employees to gain meaningful employment with substantial career growth opportunities. The project will create 52 permanent full-time jobs, 75% of which will be for low-income persons at a cost-per-job of $15,385.
The project mobilizes $13,000,000 in funds and support from The Urban Electric Company, for which documentation is provided. The Urban Electric Company has identified and secured the site that will be used for this project. The company will use low interest loan funds to capitalize company expansion, principally through the purchase of capacity expanding equipment. This company will contribute substantially to the revitalization of this community, benefit the environment, foster self-sufficiency for low-income families and ensure that sustained employment opportunities are available in this low-income community.
